Alumni Board Leadership

The Alumni Board of Directors works to promote the interests of Willamette University alumni around the globe. We aim to establish and maintain lifelong and mutually beneficial relations between alumni and their alma mater through rewarding volunteer opportunities, fun and engaging regional and affinity-based events, networking and career resources and Willamette's efforts to recruit the next great generation of Bearcats.

About the Alumni Board of Directors

Willamette University alumni are represented by a board of directors. Each member serves a term of three years and may be eligible for a second three-year term if re-elected. Directors are limited to two consecutive terms. Directorship is entirely voluntary.

Full board meetings are held three times per year and directors are required to attend at least two meetings per year and participate in committees and other board activities and projects between regular meetings.

How the Board is Formed

Alumni of all Willamette schools are eligible to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors. Applications and recommendations are accepted from the Willamette community for review by the Membership and Awards Committee. Official nominations may be made by any director. The Membership and Awards Committee reviews all submissions and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee (comprised of the Alumni Board of Directors, officers and committee chairs). The Executive Committee approves nominations and submits nominees to the full Board of directors for approval.
