Athletic Director’s Corner

A message from Athletic Director Leslie Shevlin.

Fall 2025

I am honored to return to Willamette University and Bearcat Athletics as your Director of Athletics. I look forward to reconnecting with a community and institution I believe in deeply.

I appreciate the passion and commitment Rob Passage has given our student-athletes and coaches for the past 13 years. I am grateful and lucky to still have such an impactful mentor at the institution. I hope to continue his vision for excellence in the years to come.

The 2025–26 fall sports season is underway! Football, men's and women's soccer, women's triathlon, and volleyball teams returned to campus in mid-August, bringing energy to our facilities and classrooms as they prepare for competition. I am happy to welcome back all of our head coaches and look forward to a year of growth and commitment to the student-athlete experience.

There are several different ways to keep up with your favorite Bearcat coaches and teams this year:

  • Our athletics website should have everything you need regarding schedules, rosters, game results, and more.
  • Flo Sports and the Northwest Conference have entered into an exclusive media rights agreement. FloCollege will deliver live and on-demand coverage for the full NWC calendar across 12 different sports. For more information, visit www.FloCollege.com. Links to each game will continue to be available on our website and on our team schedule pages.
  • The athletic department and many of our teams are active across most social media platforms. You can find and follow those accounts.

We charge admission to many of our home events, but we want to invite alumni to return to campus and watch our games for free this year. Please go to the following link to access your pass. All passes are delivered digitally and via e-mail. We do not provide physical copies of any season passes.

In June, Bearcat Athletics celebrated our long history of student-athlete success during Alumni Weekend. We inducted our outstanding 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame class and will soon begin the selection process for our 2026 class. If you know of any Bearcats you believe deserve this honor, please use our nomination form to let us know about them.

I look forward to meeting more of you all in the future and sharing the stories of our current student athletes, who will make you proud to be a Bearcat. I appreciate your continued support of Bearcat Athletics. We hope to see you at some events this year.

Go Bearcats!
