Dr. Kandra Yee is an Oregon native and decided at an early age that she wanted to be a doctor. While at WU, she was the director of Willamette EMS, the student-led response team. Kandra served as a Search and Rescue Ranger in Yosemite National Park before starting medical school at OHSU in 2001. She completed her specialty training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona in 2008, serving as chief resident in her last year.

She is currently the medical director of the Emergency Department as well as the chief of staff for Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, California. When the pandemic hit she was given the temporary post of chief of COVID operations for Barton Health. She lives in Lake Tahoe with her incredible husband, Andrew Zachary, and their spirited elementary-aged daughters. She is the CEO of Tahoe Emergency Physicians, and was voted Physician of the Year (2020) by her peers and honored as a Hero of COVID by the City of South Lake Tahoe (2021).
