Upon graduating from Willamette University College of Law in 2020, Sam organized and led bar exam petition efforts on behalf of recent Willamette graduates in response to the inequitable challenges posed by the first stages of the pandemic, successfully petitioning the Oregon Supreme Court to grant diploma privilege. Sam’s continued contributions to bar exam reform efforts have helped secure amendments to the rules of admission to practice law in Oregon.

After her admission to the Oregon bar, Sam helped form the WUCL Racial Justice Task Force by recruiting and leading twenty recent Willamette graduates in the research, drafting, and publication of a report recommending changes to Oregon law to limit the effect of racial bias in Oregon’s criminal justice system.

Currently, Sam works as an associate attorney at Dunn Carney where she remains committed to supporting Willamette students, past and present.
