Paul Broucek has been the president for music at Warner Bros. Pictures since 2009. After studying music at Willamette and then at Columbia College in Chicago, he started his film career as an assistant engineer on the mix of the Francis Ford Coppola classic, “Apocalypse Now,” which went on to win the 1979 Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing.
In the 1980s, Broucek went on to join the music engineering staff at the legendary Record Plant. By the end of the decade Broucek moved to music supervision, overseeing a mix of feature films and television projects. He joined New Line Cinema in 1996 and was named president a few years later.
Over the course of his career, Broucek has overseen the music for a diverse list of films – from “Austin Powers” and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy to “Wonder Woman” and most recently, the acclaimed “Joker.”
