Jeff Heatherington is the founder, president, and CEO of FamilyCare Health Plans, Inc. He is recognized as a healthcare and business leader with an unwavering focus on innovative healthcare strategies, the health of the community, and the well-being of his employees.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1965. While at Willamette, Jeff served as the class song leader for two years in freshmen glee and was Barney Bear, the original Willamette mascot.
Jeff remains an active alumni member serving on the Willamette University Alumni Board of Directors for two terms from 2008–2014 and serving on his reunion committee over several cycles since graduation. He has remained active in Greek life and served in many roles including, western division president, international treasurer, international vice president and international fraternity president for Delta Tau Delta.
Jeff gives of his time and expertise in various roles with the American Osteopathic Foundation, Oregon Symphony, Western University Health Sciences, Eastmoreland Hospital, Oregon State Bar and the Oregon Health Council.
Most recently, FamilyCare Health and the Heatherington Foundation established the Heatherington Scholars in Public Health, Heatherington Pre-Health Internship and Research Fund, the FamilyCare Pre-Health Director, and the Heatherington Public Health Programming Fund at Willamette.
